Hi there, I'm so pleased you've found your way to Melody Bee Speech Pathology. I'm Hannah, director of Melody Bee SP and experienced speech pathologist.
I have worked in paediatrics for over 10 years, from birth to 18 years and beyond, within a range of settings from early intervention centres to childcare centres, schools, homes and the wider community.
I have experience working with feeding, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), language, literacy, fluency (stuttering) and speech (articulation).
I enjoy working with children presenting with all kinds of needs, from those only experiencing challenges in the realm of speech pathology, to those receiving intervention across many domains (working holistically as part of a team to best support families).
I am dedicated to continuing professional development, ensuring I am providing my clients with the best intervention and outcomes possible.
Each child is unique, so their therapy should be too.
I believe in celebrating the strengths our children possess, and using these to address challenges with a focus on empowering families to support their child's development. I have a strong commitment to Evidence Based Practice, drawing on years of clinical experience, and combining this with up-to-date research findings and the individual needs of each child and family.
I am fortunate enough to be based on the lovely Capricorn Coast, and to be able to offer in person visits within the region, including Emerald, Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Gladstone, as well as surrounding suburbs. I visit within the home, school, child care centre or community, as best suits my clients' needs. I am also thankful to be able to work with families over telehealth, so that even children living in remote areas are able to access services. Services can currently be delivered under NDIS funding and fee for service, and expansion to other funding options is currently underway.
There is also behind the scenes work occuring at present, which will provide access to affordable, quality education around common speech pathology intervention topics (such as general strategies to support language, feeding, etc.) for families, carers and educators to access at their own pace via online learning. An FAQ and free resource index will also be added in the coming months, for access by anyone in the community that might be looking for additional support.
I look forward to your joining the adventure as the website grows, with lots of exciting new resources and service offerings in the future!
